The first question is tough. I just feel Claire is dead or at least will be. I can't think of anyone else right now that Kate went to meet other than Cassidy since she's doing a favor for Sawyer. Or it could be Clementine not sure how old she'd be right now. I also think right now everyone is alive except Claire. I think we've seen the last of the implants. So yes Juliet removed Jack's appendix.
I can't decide yet about Claire and who else might be alive besides Sawyer. That last question comes because of another blog I was reading. That person was convinced that Jack did not have appendicitis, but that the Island was trying to send some message and that Juliet was still working for Ben. I don't buy it at all, but I thought I'd ask nonetheless.
Who's blog was that comment on, memphish.. because I think I would buy that. I STILL DON'T TRUST JULIET! I think she may have removed Jack's appendix, just for Bernard's eyes, but she did something else (remove an implant/insert an implant or whatever) when Bernard went out to tell Kate that Jack was ok and Juliet was in there alone stitching him up.
Thanks, memphish, I did check Magic Lamp out. It's a very interesting blog and I did spend some time reading some of his other posts, too. "LOST?: Who's in the Coffin?" is a good one to which I have to say I agree (I always thought it was Ben, even though this season I've been warming up to the Michael idea). I also liked "Zombies on the island? Nope…" from Oct. of 2005.
To add to my feeling that Juliet did more than just fix Jack's appendix (and that we still CAN'T TRUST JULIET), my daughter agreed with me and had a really crazy idea. She said, what if Juliet made Jack pregnant? LOL... I wouldn't put it past her to try, after all she did get a male field mouse pregnant (I think) and I could believe she's still working for her own agenda, even if she isn't under Ben's thumb anymore.
Codysmom, that idea is just hilarious. I saw someone else somewhere (possibly Best Week Ever) talking about Jack becoming another of Oprah's pregnant men.
I still think she was on the up and up. Her #1 priority is to get off the Island. When Jack makes his little "I promised everyone I'm getting them off this Island" speed before he collapses, they make a pointed effort to show that he is including Juliet in that and that she understands and appreciates that distinction. Juliet fixes Jack so that he can get them off the Island. And I for one am ready to see how he fails (or if he fails) to do that for Juliet.
I'm thinking Juliet not leaving has something to do with Ben. Although, technically I suppose she could still make it off the island and just not be listed among the six.
I kind of thought the whole scenario with him wanting to talk his own way through the surgery without anesthesia was supposed to point out how much he values being in control on the island. Then in the next couple of scenes we see him washing down prescription drugs with alcohol - obviously control has slipped pretty far down on his priority list by then.

That was my deleted comment. I accidently double posted the first one.
