Why Does Hurley Wish He'd Stayed With Jack?
Is it because if he'd hung on the beach odds are Hurley like Rose, Bernard, Juliet and a handful of log-carrying guys would still be on the Island instead of lying to the world? That would be an interesting twist to that declaration.

Does Hurley See Dead People?
I heard this on Lost Unlocked. First one listener posited the idea that Hurley is like Miles and sees dead people. That explains how he sees Charlie, Mr. Eko and on Island Christian Shephard. The listener further posited that Dave is dead and that's why Hurley sees him too. He's not seeing an imaginary friend, just a dead guy.
Feedback on the idea took it even further speculating that Dave was Libby's husband and the reason that Hurley sees him both on the Island and at Santa Rosa is that Dave is haunting Libby, but Hurley sees dead people, so he sees him at Santa Rosa and on the Island. Dave might also have driven Hurley to try to kill himself on Island to keep him away from his wife Libby.
So what do you think?

Hurley's banishment scam is my favorite con in the history of LOST. Hurley is the man!

Dave? Smokey? Jacob?
What caused Hurley to see Dave on the Island? I guess
it could merely be the desire not to change his eating
habits like in Santa Rosa, but is that all it is? If
it's Island driven, was the Island/Jacob/Smokey/whoever
trying to cause Hurley's death? Unlike the case
with Jack's dad, Locke's dreams, Eko's dreams, Kate's
horse there didn't really seem to be any sort of upside
to the vision. So I guess it was all in Hurley's head.
And speaking of all in Hurley's head, Dave made a
pretty persuasive argument that the show is all in Hurley's
head. Just a prank by the writers? Yeah.
One little detail I noticed. When we first meet Dave
in Santa Rosa it's Taco Night. Just like newleywed
Kate.

Libby Redeemed?
Libby's death when it came seemed to break the LOST
mold of a character finding peace or redemption only
to then lose their life (and no sex either.) But I
think Libby might have found that redemption though
a couple of episodes before her death which makes
her death more like Boone's (who also didn't get to
have sex on Island--that we know of.)
Libby's redemption came in Dave first where
she helped Hurley free himself of his slavery to his
food stash and again when she saved him from going
over the cliff. Now of course we don't know Libby's
backstory, but I'm guessing that being able to
validate Hurley and help him face down his demons is
going to prove to be her salvation. And thus on LOST
she must die.

Why Do You Find It So Hard To Believe?
No, not Jack. Charlie. Why does he find it so hard to
believe that Hurley is a millionaire?
Don't miss today's extra post below.

My Favorite Appearance of
The Numbers
This is definitely my favorite appearance of the numbers
followed closely by their appearance on Hurley's dashboard
on his way to the airport.
Here's a question: Why wasn't millionaire Hurley flying
in First Class or at least Business Class?

Awesome Ending!
We spend an entire episode learning how a set of
numbers are cursed. They "caused" bad things to happen
to the people around Sam Toomey who was the first
(that we know of) to use them. They "caused" bad
things to happen around Hurley. I'm also willing
to bet it was Danielle who picked up the transmission
of the numbers on her ship "causing" bad things to happen
to the team around her (i.e. the sickness or at least
Danielle's perception of it.)
I find it odd that Sam and Lenny had spent some amount
of time in their job at the listening post failing to pick
up the numbers before they finally did since the
Sri Lanka video stated that the numbers were to be
broadcast from the time the Dharma Initiative got to
the Island, presumably 1980 or earlier. But Mrs. Sam
Toomey's story is that Sam and Lenny heard it around
16 years ago, the same time as Danielle's expedition.
I had intended this post to be a forum to discuss favorite
episdoe endings like the end of Numbers and the end of
Two for the Road which left me unable to sleep, but I
got distracted by the Numbers. So feel free to comment
on endings or the numbers.
P.S. I hate when people on the internet say they want
LOST to solve the mystery of the numbers. Just read
the Lostpedia entry about them and move on.
They're a MacGuffin, nothing more.
