Did A Private Plane From Herarat
Aviation Crash Too?
Where does Rachel think that happened to Juliet?
What about Ethan's family or Goodwin's?
Is it standard Hostile operating procedure to
fake the deaths of those they bring to the Island?

I have been wondering this for a long time. What did they tell Rachel about Juliet? She must have been worried when her sister didn't return. Maybe the minute each member of the Others makes a choice to stay on the island their death is faked and their family is lied to.
I would tend to agree with that thought as well. Since Ben/Jacob has no intention of letting anyone go once they are there, they might well arrange for the recruits "death" back in The World. That would also make it imperative that no one leaves! How would you explain to the World and to the returnee, that their death was faked and they are supposed to not exist anymore?! Heavy stuff.
I've been thinking some more about the "dead to the World" theory, thanks to Memphish's post of the video. Perhaps TPTB gave us a hint there, when they revealed that 815 has been reported as found, and all the passengers were dead? It would then be a logical thought path to take, to apply it to anyone who makes is to the Island, if the Others have discovered the new visitors and know who they are.
They probably did not get the chance to "kill off" Dez though (before everything went to heckinnahandbasket on the Island after the crash), unless they watched from the Pearl as Dez told Kelvin his whole life story. Then they could take that info and arrange his death too.
Interesting ideas Capcom. It makes me wonder what the world thinks happened to Desmond. Surely a contestant disappearing from a sailing race would make news. My guess is the world already thinks Desmond is dead and that it is only Penny that thinks otherwise. I'd also speculate that the only reason she thinks this is some clue he left her when he time traveled.
Good point, I agree!
Memphish, great idea about the time travel/clue leaving!
I wonder if Desmond leaving clues in his time travels explains why Penny was waiting there when Charlie turned off the jamming device. Did Desmond leave a message that said first there will be this giant magnetic anomoly and then start monitoring Channel such and so until you hear from me or this limey runt named Charlie Pace? Some little message like that instead of something useful like his lat. and long. before he crashed.
Perhaps its possible that even with the lat/long. Penny still can't "find" the island, but can be there to get transmissions if she knew when it would happen. I like where you're going with this Memphish.
