Theory-Free Post

Baby, I am tied to a tree in a jungle of mystery. I just got
tortured by a damn spinal surgeon and a gen-uine I-raqi.
Of course I'm serious.

Confidence Man is full of great lines from Jack's Jedi Moment
to Claire's "Thus my hat."

Use the comments to post some of your favorite lines from any
LOST episode. You can search the transcripts on Lost Hatch
if you need help to get the line just right.

You've got a week to come up with some great ones. My next post
will be 7/23/07, God willing and the creek don't rise (or computer
fry). And if you need more, go back through the post archives and
catch up on the comments. We've had some great ones. And try
the blogs linked to on the sidebar.

Here's the World According to Sawyer to spur your memory as well.

Two of my favorite Sawyer lines are from the first season:

When they hear the noises in the fuselage (that turns out to be boars) and Jack says "Sawyer." I love Sawyer's reply: "Right behind you, jackass."

Also, when Hurley builds the golf course, Sawyer's response: "A doctor playing golf? What's next, cop eatin' a donut?"

Another favorite is Hurley's rant when he meets Rousseau: "Sure, the fact that no one's looking for us, that's kind of weird. But I just go along because I'm just happy-go-lucky Hurley. Well now I want some friggin' answers!"

Ah, Sawyer. He's a never ending fountain of one liners and snappy retorts.

I loved Juliet's "I had the day off" answer to Hurley's question of why she wasn't on the dock at the end of S2.

Rose's "If you say Live Together, Die Alone..." to Jack in the S3 finale was priceless.

I'll have to think of more later. Hope you had a great time at the shore, Memphish.

Great quotes! I also love Sawyer's snappy comebacks, but if someone put the proverbial gun to my head to make me choose, I would probably have to pick Hurley's retorts and responses as my favorites. Especially the one that you mentioned, about wanting some friggin' answers. I cannot count how many times in my work-life I had wanted to say that to the many lame-o bosses that had control over my life and my career! :o)

There are so many fantastic lines in each episode,it is really hard to narrow it down. The writers have given great lines to all the characters.Sawyer may have the most winners though.
I think my favorite-not Sawyer line, is in the Season 1 finale(Exodous Pt.3).On the raft; after the celebrating dies down,Zeke says"Only, the thing is we're gonna have to take the boy".
I am re-watching the episodes again too,and never get tired of Lost.(Welcome back Memphish.)

I asked my husband about his favorite Lost quote. He said "Who the hell are you?", Sawyer's oft repeated question to Nikki. Nod to the fans who were asking the same thing!

Great quotes everyone! Tomorrow, new post and then I've got to get back on my viewing schedule -- once the vacation laundry gets done. I'll also have some new posts based on my beach reading, a little Brothers Karamazov, The Drawing of the Three (Dark Tower pt. 2), Lost Horizon and the first 1/2 of A Brief History of Time, plus 2 non-LOST related books (the horror!)

And feel free to keep posting favorite quotes over here as long as you'd like.

"What are you going to do, beat me with your Jesus Stick?" is one of my faves. "You better hope that box is big enough to make a new sub" is another. "The Artist Formerly Known As Henry Gale" is my favorite Sawyer nickname.

But one of my favorite scenes/monologues is when Eko tells the parable to Michael as they're wiping Libby's blood off the floor of The Swan. Chilling, and simply awesome.
