Hey Memphish, long time lurker on TLC and here and figured I'd finally jump in and comment. I think (but I am usually wrong when it comes to LOST) that the Zodiac had to move with the island because they made it a point to mention the Hydra moved too. It seems to me that it was a hint to tell us that everything that was around the island with in a certain distance moved with a turn of the donkey wheel.
Welcome EJS! Thanks for the comment. And chime in over at TLC too. We love new ideas.
I think you're right about the Zodiac. I think what they showed us indicates the Zodiac is gone too. I've heard some interesting ideas that it went somewhere different because of its distance from the Island, but I don't think so. Otherwise why wouldn't we see Daniel off Island in the future.
A lot of people think the Zodiac will pick up Jin from the freighter wreckage. I'm not a huge fan of that idea because it's just too pat. But then again, I don't really want Jin to be dead. I guess that makes me think of another question -- if Daniel, redshirts and Jin and other freighter survivors if any are out there in boats, what's to keep them from leaving the Island in its new location?
I'm hoping that the zodiak and maybe some floaters moved with the island, due to the same reason you both mention. We need more Daniel time! Although, with Dan away Miles seems freer to give Charlotte a hard time, which I'm all for. :o)
I'm not so sure about the freighter, the guy at the helm didn't want to get any closer because of the lack of sonar, so maybe it's too far away to get caught up in the FDW effect.
Capcom, I couldn't agree with you more about needing more Daniel time! I keep getting nervous as they kill off so many characters because if the PTB kill off too many, what's the point in going back to the island? As an audience we get emotionally invested in these characters and if too many are not there anymore, what's the point for the audience to keep watching?
About the Jin thing, I have a bone to pick with Kristen from E!. She totally spoiled me on his fate and that angers me. Who would have thought watching E! News would have been so bad?

I heard about that, does she really have an inside track that's that correct? Sometime's she's been totally wrong. Just keep thinking that. :-}
Yes, I agree, stop killing off all our reasons to tune in! :-o
