Why Doesn't Locke Just Tell Jack About The Wheelchair?

So I'm sloooowwwwwllly winding my way through Doc Jensen's finale recap, and here's the question I have after the how many is it now Man of Science/Man of Faith leadership stuff showdowns.  When Jack says to Locke "There's no such thing as miracles," why doesn't Locke tell him about his squiggly, squiggly legs which didn't work for 4 years and now work?

Perhaps Locke subconsciously doesn't want Jack to stay. Locke's always seemed to see Jack as competition for the leader position. Just like it didn't look like Jack was all that broken up that Sawyer jumped out of the chopper.

I can buy that. These guys on the island too often let their macho egos get in the way of logic. Or, it's just an annoying plot device to leave out important comversation in order to force confusion and drama. :-p

So far Sawyer, Charlie, and Jin (and in a small way Bernard) are the main guys who have overcome their previous male egos for the better of all.

Don't forget Desmond. . .but maybe he never had an inflated ego to begin with.
