Basic Question -- Who Killed Locke?

Earlier I asked if Locke died. As with all LOST characters, even the infamous Nikki and Paolo there are those out there who believe Locke is not dead. But I think he is as did the majority of people who voted in my previous poll. So for arguments sake let's say Occam's razor applies and Locke is dead -- who killed him?

It would make sense that Locke might have gotten tracked and fell into a skirmish with Wid's peeps, or, that there's a Keamy replacement on a mission to get Locke like Ben before. But, it would be so weird if Ben killed him just so that he could get his place back on the island. I wouldn't put it past him at this point. Maybe Ben wouldn't dare kill the Chosen Boob on the island where the Others, Jacob, and the walking-dead might see him. But it might be easier for him to do off-island. Good question!

I also wondered who killed Locke. At first it seemed that it was Ben, just so he could manipulate Jack into going back. TPTB almost put that idead into our minds on purpose, so I'm thinking that it was Widmore, so that he could track everyone's way back to the island (maybe Locke has a gps implanted in him) :)

It does feel right that it was Ben. It just might be in his plan to get everyone back to the island and he can "hitch" a ride on their backs. I don't really know why a dead Locke/Bentham would be reason enough to get everyone to agree to go back though.

pgtbeauregard - I like the idea of GPS - I was thinking implant too - maybe something that broadcasts a signal that lets the island know it's okay to "open up" the barrier.
